Mega Man Collection & Mirror’s Edge Title?
What’s up everybody, Matt here bringing you a round up of the biggest news that broke in the last 24 hours and there is no better place to start than with the Mega Man Legacy Collection!
Yes, Capcom has announced that they will be releasing a bundle containing “faithful reproductions” of all six Mega Man titles. The bundle will also include a challenge mode, which will remix segments from all six titles. The Mega Man Legacy Collection will make its way to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this summer, with a 3DS version to follow later on in the year.
Be sure to check out the trailer below:
Wow! What an awesome collection for only £11.99. As someone that didn’t get to fully appreciate the Mega Man series when I was younger I will be sure to check this out when it comes to consoles. Mega Man is truly one of the cornerstones to platform gaming and should be a must play for everyone when it comes out.
Moving on, there was an interesting update regarding the new Mirror’s Edge game. A trademark has been filed by EA for something called Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. Companies do file trademarks all the time, but EA did add fuel to fire by teasing the below image on the official Mirror’s Edge Twitter:
The new title would make sense as developers continue to move away from the numbered releases, as to avoid dispelling any gamers who did not play previous entries in the series.
One game that is not scared to continue with its numerical entries is Fallout 4! Following its announcement last week, the even better news is that we could be playing it later this year. A listing on Amazon indicated a release date of 31 December 2015. While placeholders are often made by retailers, the 2015 is significant, especially when was also initially pencilled in for a “TBA 2015” release window on a Bethesda store.
I really hope that this is accurate as, not only would I love to be playing Fallout 4 this year, I would also like to be proved right on the Party Chat prediction that I made last week!
Moving on and some pretty big news if you are a racing fan, Porsche is making is long-awaited return to Forza franchise with a special Porsche expansion pack being released for Forza Horizon 2 this week. The report from Autoblog reveals the 10 different models that will form the expansion pack. In addition, it is believed that Porsche will also make an appearance in the upcoming sim, Forza Motorsport 6.
This has been a long time coming and I’m glad that the legal issues have finally been resolved. While I don’t have massive urge to race a Porsche in Forza, it is nice for the games to have the complete collection.
Closing out the news for today and Microsoft has released a new system update for the Xbox One. This is not overly surprising considering the monthly updates that roll out to the console, but Major Nelson has teased the update as being “a few behind the scene changes to prepare for the future.”
Who knows what this could be, but I am always excited to see what they have in store for us. Maybe we will get a bit more insight into their future vision at E3.
That’s it for today, but do share your thoughts about all the stories in the comments down below. For now, hope you all have a great day.
