Bethesda’s E3 Press Conference
Happy Monday everybody! I hope you all had a good weekend, and are ready for one of the busiest news weeks of the year. We will kick off our week with all the news from last night’s Bethesda‘s E3 press conference.
There is so much information to get to, but we will start with details on one of my most anticipated games, Fallout 4. We already had its big reveal two weeks ago, but we now have confirmation that it is a 2015 release, 10th November to be exact. The PS4, Xbox One and PC title will continue to use the VATS combat system that people will remember from Fallout 3. We will also see a a very ambitious crafting system where you can collect scraps from around the wasteland to build your entire home. This extends beyond your home as you will also build defensive structures, your armour, and weapons. I must say it all looks very impressive!
Anyway, that is enough words, here is a 9 minute gameplay trailer from the reveal:
I should include that Bethesda also announced that a new Fallout game was available now, called Fallout Shelter. This is a free-to-pay game where you manage your own vault. Think of SimCity, but you control people in the vault. You will need to make sure there are sufficient resources and keep everyone happy. It is available to download now on the iOS App Store.
Fallout 4 wasn’t the only game getting attention at the press conference. First up we had the heavily rumoured Dishonored 2, which was announced on stage as a 2016 release. The reveal came with a trailer that you can see below. This time around we will play as Emily Kaldwin, who was the rightful heir to the throne from the original game. Talking of the original game, it was also announced that Dishonored Definitive Edition will be coming this summer to PS4, Xbox One and PC. It will come with enhanced graphics and all the previous DLC. I personally never completed the first Dishonored so I will consider getting this, if I have enough time to play it. What I did play was very good, so Dishonored 2 should definitely be something to keep an eye on.
Here is the trailer:
If you have not heard of Dishonored, I’m sure everyone has heard of DOOM. The latest entry into the iconic series is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC in Spring 2016. We did not hear anything bout the Beta, which we still know is coming, but we did find out that such multiplayer modes as Domination, Freeze Tag and Clan Arena would feature. While multiplayer is fine, I’m more of a single player shooter, so what excites me more is that part of the campaign will take part in hell! You can check out some of the fiery, fast paced action in the trailer below:
Closing out Bethesda’s press conference was some information on The Elder Scrolls and Battlecry. The Elder Scrolls is getting the tablet treatment in a new free-to-play strategy card game called The Elder Scrolls Legends. The tablet game will also come to PC and is expected out later this year. Battlecry was only briefly mentioned to confirm that it will be entering Beta later this year. Neither of these games interest me personally, so don’t expect much coverage on the lead up to their respective releases.
So there we go, that was Bethesda’s press conference. Obviously Fallout 4 was the headliner, but still plenty of other titles to get excited over.
I’m not entirely sure how I will cover all of today’s news yet, but I will possibly do one entry for each press conference. It will depend how interesting each conference is! Either way I will be back tomorrow with some more update.
Have a good day.
