Games With Gold For July Confirmed

Happy Friday everyone! So the weekend is almost here and I have to be honest it was a pretty slow news day again, but at least we found out the next lineup for Games With Gold.

For Xbox One, players will be able to get Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag for the entire month of July, whereas So Many Me will be available from 16th July. Pool Nation FX makes its departure after 3 consecutive months on the console! I thought Black Flag was a really fun Assassin’s Creed game, and a great change of pace from a series that was becoming stale. All Xbox One owners should check this one out. I don’t know too much about So Many Me, but looks like it could be fun little puzzle platformer. I’ve attached the trailer below for you to check out:

Over on Xbox 360, EA‘s Plants Vs Zombies will be your first free game. Then, from July 16th, Gears Of War 3 will take over. It’s great to see Gears Of War 3 making an appearance as we look to build the full Gears lineup before Gears Of War 4 hits shelves next year. With backwards compatibility coming to Xbox One, make sure you download these games so you can play everything on your Xbox One. We only need Gears Of War 2 now to complete the full set, which I’m almost certain will come eventually.

Next up we should mention that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is getting a patch for PS4 & Xbox One. Patch 1.05 doesn’t have any headline updates, but it does provide a list of bug fixes. Updates are always a good thing, especially when they are linked to quests, which they are in this instance. I would like to take this opportunity to say that this game is fantastic, everyone should make sure they play this game at some point. It is the deepest game I’ve ever played and the only disappointing aspect is that I’ll never have time to complete it!

Let’s talk about Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5. Yes this game is a real thing and its coming to consoles later this year. As a huge fan of the old Pro Skater games, I am eager to see what they come up with. According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, we learnt that we will be getting up to 20-player multiplayer on the Xbox One and PS4, however online modes will not be available on the previous generation of consoles. The Pro Skater name indicates the eagerness to return to the style of the series, and the classic create-a-park mode does return.

I will close with a list of the select games available from today:

We will discuss all these games in great detail on Monday’s Game Of The Week Show, so be sure to check back for that.

Have a great weekend!
