Nathan Drake Is Looking Good In 1080p
Hey everyone! Sorry its a bit late again today (Thursdays seem to keep being crazy) but on the plus side it was a pretty slow news day. We will start off with a look at Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
The trilogy is making its way to PS4 on October 9th this year, but we now have a bit more details on how the game looks. A post on the PlayStation Blog unsurprising talks about how good Nathan Drake looks in his all 1080p remastered glory. Baring in mind that Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is now 8 years old, I would imagine that this is going to have to biggest improvement. The jump even on PS3 to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was significant. What’s more is that we will apparently be getting a playable demo later on this summer. I don’t need to have a demo to know that I’m going to buy this collection, but it is definitely a nice option to give to gamers.
If you don’t want to wait to play the trilogy, but only have a PS4 I have good news for my fellow Britons as PlayStation Now has finally gone to open beta in the UK. The steaming service allows you to rent PS3 games ranging between £2.99 to £7.99 on two and thirty day rentals specifically. The initial concept of PlayStation Now was a good one, but the price point is all wrong. The only way they can try and turn this around is to try and make it a subscription based service. With the Xbox One backwards compatibility, Sony has an uphill battle to sell this streaming service.
Staying with Playstation once more and the fantastic Goat Simulator is finally making its way to Sony consoles next month. The physics based game will be launching on August 11th. If you don’t know what Goat Simulator is, then you sure are in for a treat. Never has being a goat been so much fun. I recently picked it up on the Ultimate Game Sale for Xbox One and its just a fun game to just mess around with for an hour or so. I’ll just leave the official trailer below for you all to enjoy:
Five years ago, Gearbox acquired the rights to Duke Nukem and we since then we have only seen Duke Nukem Forever. Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford revealed that he “did not acquire the franchise merely so we could all experience Duke Nukem Forever.” He went on to say that the ill-fated release of Forever “was the toll to pay to give Duke a chance.” We have now learnt that Gearbox does have some concept development for the series, but at the moment are “very busy.” Hopefully someone can come in and assist Gearbox with the development, as I think a new Duke Nukem could live in today’s world of gaming.
For fans of the Forza series, Turn 10 has revealed a bunch of new cars making their way into Forza Motorsport 6. The game, which is due to launch September 18th, will be shipping with 450 cars and offer 26 different racing locations. The stand out cars from this list are the two classic McLaren race cars. The 1969 #4 McLaren M8B was released for the respective Can-Am season, and the 1966 McLaren M2B was McLaren’s first F1 race car.
Closing out today’s news and it has been announced that Angry Birds is getting a sequal. Yes I’m sure you are thinking the same as me, there has been dozens of iterations of this game, but Angry Birds 2 marks the official sequel to the popular mobile game. The teaser promises that they will be “bigger, badder, birdier” and more information will follow on 28th July. I personally am done with Angry Birds. I really enjoyed the first game, when it game out, but the novelty soon wore off. I’ll stick to my console gaming thank you.
That’s it for today, sorry again its late, I’ll be back again tomorrow.
