YouTube Gaming Goes Live!

I’m not going to lie, it is a pretty slow news day for you today. However, we do still have a couple of items to discuss, and first up is the launch of Google‘s YouTube Gaming service.

YouTube Gaming will now act as a HUB for all things video game related on Google’s video-sharing website. The biggest news feature is introduction of video game streaming, which will no doubt rival Amazon‘s Twitch streaming service. While streaming has been available previously on YouTube, this launch now makes 0n-the-fly streaming a possibility. It will be interesting to see how Twitch is affected by YouTube entering the game streaming service. My personal opinion is that Twitch won’t suffer too much in the first instance, but if Twitch was to ever falter in their service, YouTube will be there to pick up the pieces.

This year’s annual Assassin’s Creed game — Assassin’s Creed Syndicate — is due for a worldwide release of October 23rd on the PS4 and Xbox One. However, PC gamers are going to have slightly longer to wait to get their hands on the Victorian London adventure. Ubisoft has confirmed that the PC version will arrive almost four weeks later, on November 19th. While this delay is not what PC gamers will want to hear, it will ensure that the game is as polished and as stable as possible — no one wants another Batman: Arkham Knight experience.

From one open world to an even vaster world, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is easily one of the best games of 2015 so far. It appears that I was not alone in thinking this as it sold 6 Million copies in its first 6 weeks, according to financial figures released by CD Projekt for the first half of 2015. These sales are no less than what this games deserves, it truly is a must play for anyone. If you haven’t played it yet you better hurry up as a lot of (hopefully) awesome games are on the horizon.

Forza Motorsport 6 is just one of those game, with a release date of September 18th. If that date is too far away for some of you (I know it is for me) then don’t worry as a demo will be hitting the Xbox Store on September 1st. This will give racers the opportunity to get a taster for the latest simulation racer ahead of its release an also gift those who subsequently purchase the game with a free Ford GT delivered to their Forza garage.

Nintendo‘s Amiibos have been a huge hit since their initial release last year. Well according to UK retailer GAME, it appears the Shovel Knight is about to join the party. In a Tweet, that has since been deleted, GAME revealed that the Knight will be available on November 27th and pre-orders will start tomorrow. GAME has obviously jumped the gun on this, but if pre-orders are indeed to begin tomorrow, I’m sure we will hear something from Yacht Club Games very shortly. I am almost glad I don’t have a Wii U, otherwise I’d have far too many of these things!

That’s it for today, hopefully we will have something more exciting tomorrow. At the very least, there are plenty of game releases to be excited about!
