Don’t Mess With Fireteam Osiris

Man this 4-day week feels like it is taking forever. To make matters worse, it appears everyone is too busy playing Mad Max or The Phantom Pain to give us any news!

Let’s start with some very important news that I missed yesterday, and that is the Halo 5: Guardians cinematic launch trailer. The trailer, which can be seen below, showcases Fireteam Osiris – the elite team featuring Spartan Locke. The cinematic looks incredible, from the free-falling spartans with ships fighting around them, to the team sliding down the mountain while encountering enemy contact. The fact that the journey down the mountain is all done in a single take, makes it all the more impressive. October 27th can’t come soon enough!

Next up, and my public service announcement for the day, the Destiny servers will currently be unavailable. Bungie has notified gamers that they will be offline for about six hours today, between 4pm and 10pm. I know that maintenance will be based around off-peak times in the US, but I feel for the Destiny players in the UK and Europe, as it basically means that their evening cannot be fulfilled with Destiny. Updates are necessary, but why not try and do them overnight so it affects less people, and if that’s not possible, don’t make them six hours long!

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End got itself a March 2016 release date recently, and Naughty Dog has been talking about single-player DLC. Naughty Dog are relatively new to the single-player DLC scene, with Left Behind being their first attempt. However, it was success of that previous DLC that makes Naughty Dog believe that they can find success in the Uncharted series. I’m not always the biggest fan of DLC, but the opportunity to get more Uncharted content is only a good thing in my eyes. Left Behind was a great compliment to The Last Of Us, and I’m sure whatever Naughty Dog do this time will only be top quality.

Video games are at the forefront of conversation here on TGI, but other games can also be considered…especially if they are of a video game theme! Well, Bethesda has announced that a special Fallout themed Monopoly will be releasing this November, to coincide with the release of Fallout 4. Following its reveal by Shacknews, it appears that it may only be available at Gamestop in North America, but hopefully it will find its way across to Europe. I really hope that the currency of choice in the game is actual bottle caps!

Sorry it’s a short one today, but there is not much else of note to discuss. I’ll be back again tomorrow.
