Another Game Drops Out Of 2015
These past few weeks I’ve actually been starting to wonder where I’m going to find the time to play every game I want this year. Luckily, for me, that list just got a bit shorter…
The latest Hitman game has been hit by a small delay and will now be launching in March 2016. IO Interactive has indicated that Hitman will be “the biggest venture” the studio has undertook in terms of scope and content. The full release can be found on their blog, where they also gave a sense of scale for the upcoming game. This is identified in the image below. I am a big fan of Hitman, but am more than happy to wait a little long for this game. I’ve said many times that a delayed game is always better than a rushed game.
So, there has been a few rumbling about The Last Of Us 2 over the past couple of months. Well Naughty Dog’s Neil Drukmann has helped clarify this in a recent interview with Official PlayStation Magazine:
“[W]hen Bruce [Straley] and I moved over to Uncharted 4, we were brainstorming ideas for The Last Of Us 2 with new characters; ideas for TLOU 2 with Joel and Ellie; ideas for a sci-fi game; ideas for a fantasy game, and building prototypes for each one of those ideas. And just as we were getting close to settling or narrowing that list down, we were asked to work on Uncharted 4.”
So there you have it, no surprise that ideas have been floated around the Naughty Dog studio, but nothing yet concrete. I’m sure all focus right now is on Uncharted 4, so we probably won’t here anything solid about The Last Of Us 2 at least for another year.
Halo 5: Guardians is just over a month away, but the build up it well and truly on. 343 Industries has premiered season 2 of their popular audio show, HUNT the TRUTH. For anyone not familiar with the series, it is basically a prequel to the events of Guardians, which looks to explore the mysteries behind Master Chief. It is a must listen for any Halo fans, so make sure you subscribe to it on iTunes or SoundCloud.
Staying with the big AAA titles, Call of Duty: Black Ops III is only 6 weeks away and Activision is teaming up with PlayStation for a new console bundle. This 1 TB PlayStation will sport the black and orange Black Ops colours, along with the three emblems (campaign, multiplayer, zombies) on the front of the console. The matching controller will also be sold separately if you already own a PS4. I have got to admit, despite orange being my favourite colour, this is not a very good looking console. If you are a big COD fan it might appeal to you, otherwise find a better bundle this fall.
Closing out the news, I thought we should take a trip down memory lane to Kakariko Village. This famous village from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time has been beautifully rendered into high definition glory, using the Unreal 4 engine. A big thanks to Youtuber ArtistArtorias for this video, which you can all see below.
That’s it for today. For this evening, c’mon the Arsenal!
