New Far Cry Game Announced!
Get ready to sharpen those spears and arrows, Far Cry Primal is coming in 2016!
Yes, Ubisoft has today confirmed that the next “full-fledged single-player experience” in the Far Cry universe is taking a trip back in time, to 10,000 BC. The “savage Stone Age” setting will result in your player having to combat massive beasts like the woolly mammoth and the sabretooth tiger. I like the idea of Ubisoft trying something different, but I think this will be in a similar mold to Blood Dragon. February 23rd is just way too soon to be a “full” new game. Also, I really didn’t enjoy the shangri-la missions, so I hope it is not too similar. The trailer does look cool though…
Everyone loves Trophies/Achievements right? Well the list for Call of Duty: Black Ops III has emerged, and it seems to indicate that a new “Realistic” difficulty mode might by coming to Activison’s first-person shooter. Previously, Veteran was the hardest difficulty in a Call of Duty titles, but the name “Realistic” would suggest that health-regeneration may be excluded in this hardest difficulty. In one way I like the idea of a realistic experience, but I know I wouldn’t be good enough to play at this level and it would just become too frustrating. I’m a very angry gamer!
Staying with Activision, sci-fi shooter Destiny will be getting micro-transactions. According to Bungie’s website, players will be able to purchase emotes using real-world money. Before people start to get mad, Bungie has reassured gamers that these new emotes will be entirely optional and “won’t impact the action game in any way.” They did also advise that the funding will be used to support the live team to create more content – as if this game hasn’t already made enough! I don’t like micro-transactions but they no doubt create millions for publishers. If you don’t like them it’s simple, vote with your wallet and don’t purchase any!
PSA announcement for the day, and Microsoft has confirmed how gamers who have pre-ordered the Limited Collector’s Edition of Halo 5: Guardians can exchange their digital code for a physical copy of the game. Apparently it will be as simple as contacting Xbox Support and using the live “Chat with Microsoft Support.” From there, you will inform the rep of your intention to exchange, before proving them with the unredeemed code, your gamertag, email address, and mailing address. It should be noted that this offer will only be available until November 1st, so you will have to act fast! I still don’t understand why they wouldn’t offer the physical copy in the first place. A “collector’s edition” should always include a physical copy!
Closing out the news, and a one-of-a-kind custom Amiibo is up for sale on eBay. Why would you want to bid $,1850 (at time of writing) on such an Amiibo, well it is modelled after the late Satoru Iwata – former president of Nintendo. The figure looks so cool, featuring Iwata’s Mii holding the Master Sword. It also features Diddy Kong’s Nintendo hat, a Pokeball, a 1UP mushroom, a Super Star from Mario, and Zelda’s Red Shield. All proceeds will go to charity so get bidding, and know that your money is going to a worthy cause.
