Firewatch Confirmed For February 2016
One of my most eagerly awaited games has finally got a release date, and it’s only four months away!
Firewatch — Campo Santo‘s beautiful and mysterious exploration game — will be available on the PS4 on February 9th, 2016. The announcement game via a post on the PlayStation blog, where the developer confirmed that they are hard at work “polishing, optimizing, writing, and developing the last bits of the game.” If you were not already aware of this game, I highly recommend you check out the trailer below. If you want even more, IGN had 17 minute of gameplay as part of their IGN First preview coverage. The mysterious nature of this game really intrigues me. I have never been so excited to explore Wyoming in a video game!
In less than four weeks, a very large number of gamers will be invested in Fallout 4. Well the marketing campaign continues to roll on, this time in the form of a live-action trailer. The trailer, which can be seen below, sees a man and his dog wandering through the wastleland to the tune of Status Quo’s “The Wanderer.” While not confirmed, this is possibly the project that Bethesda were working on with Guillermo Del Torro’s production company, Mirada Studios. It is a pretty cool trailer, and I am excited to play Fallout 4, I’m just not sure how long I’m going to last in another massive open world this year…
A couple of Nintendo items for you now, and fans of The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess may have something to excited about. The 2006 Wii & Gamecube title could be getting the HD treatment on the Wii U, if the latest reports are to be believed. In the first instance a Twitter user found a shop icon for Twilight Princess on the Nintendo eShop, but some could say that this is just for the virtual console. However, as reported by Eurogamer, the title “Twilight Princess HD” has now been spotted on the eShop servers, which leads to believe that a remaster could well be on the cards. Twilight Princess is considered by some as the best Zelda game and, because of its release being between to console life cycles, it probably didn’t reach its optimum in terms of sales. I know I didn’t play it, so I’d welcome a remaster.
From one face of Nintendo to another, Mario is coming to the 3DS later this year in the form of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros.. Now I know I am not the biggest fan of Nintendo, but it seems that this game has been almost forgotten since its announcement at E3. Still, fans of the series will be happy to get their hands on the latest entry into the RPG series when it comes to stores on December 4th. You will be able to switch between Mario, Luigi, and Paper Mario in order to solve puzzles and take down Bowser. Not one for me, I feel the 3DS barely gets used…unless it is for Pokemon.
Closing out todays news, and have you ever want to see what it is like to be a dog? Well now you can in the indie title Home Free, which is coming to PS4 next year. Home Free puts you in the place of a lost dog in a randomly generated city. You will have to help him find food, friends, a place to sleep, and ultimately, his way home. I have never seen a game like this before, but as a dog lover I can’t help but want to keep an eye on how this one progresses. The game is the work of a guy called Kevin Cancienne, who currently has a Kickstarter running to help him with the game (he has already surpassed his goal).
That’s it for today, sorry it was so late. I’ll be back again tomorrow (hopefully earlier)
