Play The New Doom This Weekend!
This weekend gamers will finally get a chance to play the long-awaited Doom this weekend…
Bethesda has announced that the multiplayer alpha will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and will run until the early hours of Monday (3:59am to be exact). There is a slight catch though in that this is a closed Alpha, so you will have to have previously signed up. The beta will be coming in 2016 and will be available to those who were promised it when pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order. Those lucky enough to play the alpha this weekend will get access to a 6 vs 6 team deathmatch on the map called ‘Heatwave’. It is great to see Doom making a return after all these years, and I’ll be interest to see how the game turns out. The trailer looks cool!
From one shooter to another, we have a new trailer for Call Of Duty: Black Ops III. The “launch gameplay trailer” shows off the game’s campaign, multiplayer, and zombie modes all to the tune of The Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black.” There is even a brief glimpse of Marshawn Lynch’s character — the Seahawks running back plays a mercenary fighter in the game. Remember if you are planning to pick up Black Ops III on either the Xbox 360 or PS3, then you will not get the game’s campaign mode. For those of you who are looking forward to more Call Of Duty, you only have two more weeks to wait (November 6th).
Two further games have gone gold yesterday ahead of their upcoming releases. First up is the post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout 4, which is due for release on November 10th. Bethesda announced this news in the below Tweet, which shows a Vault Boy with the first physical versions of the game. I am looking forward to exploring the wasteland of Fallout 4 next month, butI just fear that the game will require far more time than I’ll have.
The second gold game of the day is Square Enix‘s over-the-top action game Just Cause 3. The announcement was again made on Twitter, this time is was by Christofer Sundeberg — CEO of Avalanche Studios. In addition to the gold announcement, we also have a new story trailer for the game. Despite it being a “story” trailer, Rico Rodrigeuz still partakes in plenty of destruction as he tries to bring down the reign of dictator General Di Ravello. I can’t wait to get my hands on this game when it launches on December 1st. The game just looks pure fun!
Closing out the news and Housemarque is counting down to several announcements during Paris Games Week. The official website of the Resogun developer has five different countdowns, one for each day of the week. It is almost certain that one or more of these countdowns will be for their upcoming game, Alienation. The top down shooter is seen as the spiritual successor to Dead Nation and is expected for a release in 2015. If you have been following us for a while, you will know how much I loved Resogun, so I’m going to be excited about anything that Housemarque does.
This week’s game releases are:
- Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
