New Games With Gold Confirmed
It is that time of the month where we discover the next batch of free games for Xbox players…
Yes November’s Games With Gold have been announced and first up on the Xbox One is Pneuma: Breath Of Life. This first-person puzzle game uses the Unreal 4 engine to provide stunning visuals. I have already completed Pneuma and must say it is a fun little puzzle game. You can probably complete in a few hours, and is an easy 1,000 Gamerscore! The other Xbox One title, which will be available from November 16th, is Knight Squad. If you are looking for a new couch co-op game, then this might be the game for you. Up to eight players can compete in multiple different game modes. You can check out the trailer below:
On the Xbox 360 side you will be able to pick up Dirt 3 for the first half of November (1st – 15th) and then Dungeon Siege III for the final half of the month (16th – 30th). Remember to make sure that you add these to your library, as all 360 titles will now be playable on your Xbox One thanks to backwards compatibility. If you haven’t played the Dirt series before, I recommend you give Dirt 3 a go, it is a very solid racing game.
Next up we have a sales update on the PS4, and it is great news for Sony. In the last quarter Sony sold another 4 million consoles, bringing the grand total to 29.3 million! This is a 21% increase when compared to PS4 consoles sold in the same period last year, with Sony’s whole gaming division revenue being up 16.5%. The success of this generation doesn’t appear to be slowing up, but these latest figures do show that Sony does have a sizeable lead of Microsoft‘s Xbox One sales. It will be interesting to see who wins the final quarter of 2015 — surely Xbox One has to win…right?!
Staying with Sony, but with some slightly negative news. We spoke just the other day about a survey that Sony was undertaking to determine what changes players would like to see come to their PS4. Well, according to Shuhei Yoshida, one of those features might not even be possible! Speaking at Paris Games Week, Yoshida advised that the change of a players PSN ID continues to be problematic:
“Our engineers have been looking into what they can do. As soon as we know, we’ll let you know. But as of today, we don’t even know if we can ever do it. Hopefully we will be able to provide that feature in the future.”
I understand that it is not as simple as just flicking a switch, but I think that their engineers just have to find a way! Yoshida acknowledged that Sony are “aware that lots of people are asking for the feature.” Only time will tell how successful their engineers are.
Looking ahead to 2016 and Hitman is due to release in March, but for now we have a new trailer to admire. Square Enix has released a trailer called “Welcome To Sapienza” and shows Agent 47 doing what he does best in the sunny Italian town. This will be just one of the many locations to appear in the reboot of the stealth action-adventure series, with assassination contracts taking place all over the world. I look forward to playing this game when it finally arrive.
The final item of the day, and Xbox One players can start playing Need For Speed now, ahead of its release next Friday. If you are a member of EA Access, which you should be by now, you can download the full game and race as much as you want for 10 hours. Any progress you make will be carried over if you decide to purchase the game after your trial is over. My copy has already downloaded and hopefully I will have some time over the weekend to play some more of this very good racing game.
