Mankind To Remain Divided Until August

Yes Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has been delayed!

In a recent statement on the game’s website, developer Eidos Montreal gave the following statement to explain the six month delay:

“We’re confident and proud of the game so far. However, as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations and refinement to meet our high standards. In order to achieve this, we need to move the release of the game to 23 August 2016”.

This delay now means that this is the third game to be delayed out of February — Mirrors Edge Catalyst and Battleborn were both delayed until May. While disappointing for fans eager to play the latest Deus Ex, the delay will benefit the game in the long run so we should all be happy for that.

Rainbow Six Siege is only a couple of weeks away but you can get one final chance to test the game prior to release. Starting next Wednesday (November 25th) gamers will be able to participate in an open beta for the tactical shooter. The beta will run for five days, until Sunday November 29th. The beta will allow you to try 14 different operators on three maps, which will each have day and night options. The three game modes available will be; Bomb, Secure Area and Disarm Bomb. For any of those who are undecided on Ubisoft‘s shooter, the beta represents the perfect opportunity to get a taste of the experience. I myself will be making sure I play a few matches next weekend.

If next weekend is too far away there is another game you can try for free this weekend, if you are an Xbox One owner. NBA 2K16 will be free for all Xbox Live Gold members from November 20th-22nd. This will be the full version of the game and, if you decide to purchase afterwards, all progress will be carried over. As a word of caution the file size is almost 45GB so I hope you have a reasonable internet connection — otherwise you will spend the entire weekend downloading it. Take Two recently announced that their latest basketball sim had been a huge success and the reviews could indicate why. If you have got some spare time this weekend, make sure you give it a shot.

Closing out the freebies and Rocket League will be getting another free update, sort of. The new expansion pack called Chaos Run will actually cost £3 and will include new cars, decals, wheels, rocket trails and more. However what will be free to all gamers will be an update that brings a new arena called Wasteland. Unlike previous arenas, which are effectively the same arena with different skins, Wasteland will be wider than previous arenas, have new placements to it booster pads and sloped edges around the edge. The level appears to be inspired by the post-apocalyptic wasteland we saw in Mad Max. Rocket league is an extremely fun game and I’m glad that Psyonix continue to support the game with new update. Go play it if you haven’t already.

That’s it for today. Until tomorrow,
Matt
