12 Days Of Christmas Has Begun!

Sony has kicked off December with their 12 Days Of Christmas offers and first up is a big one!

On the PSN right now you can pick up Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for £29.99 — an alleged 50% discount from its normal price! Now I would argue that the game shouldn’t be list at £59.99 as the RRP for games should be £49.99, but it is still a decent discount for those who have not yet picked up Kojima’s final Metal Gear experience. The deal will be available for 48 hours — until 23:59 on 2 December — so don’t waste any time picking it up. We will continue to get a new offers, 12 in total, every two days in the lead-up to Christmas. Make sure you keep checking back to see if you can grab any deals, I know I will!

So Black Friday has come and gone and millions of people got out their wallets to spend and save as the holiday rush finally gets into gear. It appears that Black Friday was particularly good for Xbox One and PS4 sales. According to a sales report from Adobe, the consoles, along with Samsung 4k TVs and Apple iPads were among the top electronic sellers on the biggest sale day of the year. When it came to the top-selling toys, LEGO Dimensions managed to make the list meaning video games were covered in both categories. Microsoft reaffirmed this report as marketing boss Aaron Greenberg took to Twitter to announce that the Xbox One had a”really strong Black Friday”. It will be interesting to see if we get official numbers and find out which console was the more successful — with all its exclusives I would like to think Xbox One, but the PS4 does have both Call Of Duty: Black Ops III and Star Wars: Battlefront bundles…

Talking of Battlefront, today is the initial release date of its first DLC pack called Battle of Jakku. The Force Awakens-inspired content adds a new map (Jakku) and a new 40-player mode called Turning Point. In anticipation of its release, EA streamed some footage of the DLC on their Twitch channel yesterday evening. If you would like to check out some gameplay before playing the DLC, you can do so with the video below. If you are wondering why you can’t access this content yet, it was only available today for those of you who pre-ordered the game. The rest of you will have to wait until December 8th before you can take the rebel fight to Jakku.

The day has finally arrived, Just Cause 3 is here! To celebrate the release of Avalanche Studios‘ over-the-top action game, Square Enix has published the launch trailer. This particular trailer was actually made by a fan, and was part of a competition that was run by the publisher back in October. The trailer itself is a rap music video with a focus on the game’s explosions! CoolTwinSkittles was rewarded with a $5,000 prize pack for beating out the 1,200+ entries. I enjoyed the trailer but have now watched enough explosions for this game, it is time to go make some of my own!

Until tomorrow,

Matt
