New Assassin’s Creed Games Coming Soon
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles India and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Russia are the next two games in the 2.5D Chronicles trilogy, which kicked off with Assassin’s Creed Chronicles China earlier this year. India and Russia will release on January 12th and February 9th respectively for PS4, Xbox One and PC. If you are keen to get all three titles, a trilogy pack will also release on February 9th, with a Vita version following in April. I already picked up China earlier this year and I especially liked the art style, but found the story lacking. Hopefully the next two games can improve on this as they do offer a nice change to the main Assassin’s Creed series.
Taking of new announcements, it appears that cult classic System Shock could be making a return. A website announcing System Shock 3 has gone live with a timer counting down to the early hours on Monday morning. We will be sure to bring you more information when it likely becomes available next week, but it is interesting to hear that the spiritual predecessor for Bioshock could be making a return. I am definitely a fan of atmospheric first person shooters so consider me intrigued.
Fresh off last week’s win at The Game Awards, CD Projekt Red has revealed the images for the next DLC for ‘Game of the Year’ The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Titled Blood and Wine, the images show off the expansion’s new region of Toussaint. As you can see, Toussaint looks beautiful with vivid colours popping from the image. Blood and Wine is expected to provide us with around 20 hours of gameplay, and includes characters — “both new and dearly missed” — along with new gear and enemies. It is crazy that an expansion pack will offer more gameplay than some full releases, CD Projekt Red has truly delivered on all front and its “300 [game] awards” are most definitely deserved. Hopefully I may have some time to revisit this game in 2016, when this next expansion is set for release.
Talking of a game that keep giving, Rockstar has announced another new mode for GTA Online. Titled “Every Bullet Counts,” this “intense” variation of the free-for-all last man standing mode is a four play experience where you are given one marksman pistol and only two bullets to take out the three opponents. Tactics and precision shooting will definitely be key here, two things that I severely lack in. Still it will be interesting to try out this new mode, which is available now.
In possibly the weirdest story of the week, a new Xbox One app has been released which makes use of the Kinect. Called “The Mall,” this shopping app lets you virtually try on clothes from the comfort of your own home. To do this you simply stand in front of the camera and it then fits the item of clothing to your body. It is nice to see that people are trying to find uses for the Kinect, but I’m not sure how well this will catch on. Unfortunately I can’t try it out for myself just yet as the app is only available in the US for now.
That’s all for today. Until tomorrow,
