Fable Legends Has Been Delayed Until 2016
Developer Lionhead announced that the “disappointing” choice to push the release was, in part, a result of feedback from the ongoing closed beta. The delay isn’t a huge surprise given the lack of details we have heard about the free-to-play title. Lionhead also confirmed that an open beta would take place in the Spring, meaning it is still a few months before we all get a chance to play the first full Fable title in over five years. Lionhead has emphasised that it “didn’t anticipate just how big Fable Legends” would become, which has led to the additional development time. If anyone played either Fable or Fable II, they will know that it was once a fantastic RPG. I’m intrigued to see what Lionhead can do, unfortunately I don’t have high hopes.
One of the highlights from EA‘s press conference at E3 this year was the adorable Yarny from upcoming platformer Unravel. Coldwood Interactive, the game’s developer, has announced that Unravel will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC on February 9th. In addition to the release date we also got a new story trailer, which you can see below. If you don’t take anything else away from this trailer, you should at least appreciate the visual direction the game is taking. I can’t believe how good this trailer looks, I hope the in-game visuals are just as good. Either way, I can’t wait to enjoy Yarny’s adventure next year.
Rock Band made a return to our consoles this year with Rock Band 4, but Harmonix hasn’t forgotten about our old libraries. Harmonix has confirmed that the Rock Band 3 library can now be exported to the current generation, although it will cost you £12. At only 14pence per song it represents pretty good value, but you are required to already own a copy of the game. The export also has to be done via Rock Band 4‘s in-game store. I know licensing issues are often difficult obstacles for Harmonix, but I think it’s really important that gamers can transfer their libraries from previous games to the new console… it may even entice more people, like myself, to finally purchase Rock Band 4!
I talk about Rocket League quite a lot as one of the best games of 2015. Well it has got a little better today with the latest Hockey Mode update. As previously discussed, the new mode turns the arena into a giant ice rink and replaces the ball with a hockey puck. In addition to the new mode, playing prior to January 4th will allow you to unlock some Christmas themed in-game content; including a rocket trail, antennas, and toppers. The best part about this update is that it is free! This is probably the perfect excuse for me to jump back into Rocket League over the Christmas period.
Final item today and, if you haven’t heard, there is a new Star Wars film coming out this week. With this in mind, a Fallout 4 player has been getting into the Star Wars spirit by building a giant AT-AT with the game’s settlement tools. YouTuber Ops_Specialist is the individual that we have to credit with this achievement, who claims that the AT-AT is fully functional and with rooms inside. His channel features a four-part 8 hour feature of him completing the project, or you can see the video below showing off the completed project. When I see people build such awesome creations in games, it makes me realise how much creativity I lack. Well done Ops_Specialist, this looks amazing!
That’s all for today.
